Dale J. Marquis, Chairman & CEO

corporate picThe Chairman and CEO of Pacifica Hotel Company, Dale Marquis is also the founder and President of Invest West Financial Corporation and Chairman of the Board of Invest West Capital Corporation, a closely held venture capital company. Dale has been involved with the acquisition or development of over 130 real estate investment projects, including over 30 hotel projects, as well as the formation and operation of many real estate and other companies. He is directly involved in the approval of hotel sites and hotel acquisition projects for the company.


Michael Barnard, President & COO

corporate picMichael Barnard is responsible for lodging acquisitions and the continued growth of the company. Mike attended the University of Southern California and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Finance. Prior to joining Pacifica Hotel Company, he was vice president of acquisitions and capital investments for Choice Hotels International, as well as regional vice president responsible for franchise development, franchisee relations and services of nearly 400 Choice Hotel properties. Mike also spent five years with Marriott Corporation in various positions including finance, development finance and feasibility.


John B. Beazley, CHA Executive Vice President – Operations

corporate picJohn Beazley joined the Pacifica Hotel Company in 1995 and is responsible for all of the hotel operations. John attended Paul Smith College and received his Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin. He has been a Certified Hotel Administrator since 1988. John's extensive brand experience includes overseeing operations for Stouffer Hotels, Hilton, Choice, Holiday Inn, Best Western, and several independent hotels with 100-1,000 rooms.


Todd Moreau, Vice President of Operations

Todd MoreauTodd Moreau started with Pacifica Hotel Company in 1998 while attending Cal State San Marcos studying business management. Within the first year of employment took over responsibilities of one of the company’s flagship properties, the Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, as General Manager. Over the next two years he increased net operating income by more than 50%, through a committed effort to revenue management, sales, and development of all Blue Sea Lodge staff members. In 2001, Todd was promoted to his first Regional Management position as Area Manager for the company’s San Diego properties. In 2002, he was relocated to the Los Angles area, taking on the role as Area Manager for three Los Angeles properties. Over the course of the next four years he continued to take on additional properties, while excelling in this capacity by developing strong, successful management teams and consistently exceeding performance expectations in all key areas. At the start of 2006, Todd was promoted to Regional Director of Operations overseeing all hotels in the Central Coast, Los Angeles and the company’s latest acquisitions: the Marina del Rey Hotel and Marina International Hotel, and a new development project, Hilton Garden Inn PGA Village.

Midway through the 2006, he took on his current role as Vice President of Operations responsible for all hotels within the Pacifica Hotel Company portfolio, and overseeing the company operations, revenue, and training & development team. Todd has a total of twelve plus years of industry-management experience, brand experience with Choice, Hilton, Best Western and Intercontinental, and also has been involved in overseeing multiple major renovation projects, new development, and acquisitions. Todd is truly committed to the development of all staff members within the organization, continued operating success and achievement of industry-leading results, and driving guest satisfaction through an ongoing dedication to the company’s core values.


Tommy Henry, Vice President – Development Pacifica Hotel Investors

corporate picTommy Henry is responsible for all of the services related to new development, expansion, and renovation of Pacifica's quality hotel properties. He also oversees the company's in-house design, construction and procurement activities. Prior to joining Pacifica Hotel Company, Tommy was Vice President of Design for La Quinta Inns Inc., where he managed design and documentation for the company's first high-rise boutique hotel. He spent 11 years with Red Lion Hotels and Inns, where he was Senior Vice President administering an annual capital expenditure budget of $45 million and overseeing the design and construction of four upscale hotels. He was also Vice President/Architecture and Interior Design for Mariner Corp., which developed Marriott, Hilton and Holiday Inns, and Regional Architect for Holiday Corporation, where he was instrumental in developing the highly successful Crowne Plaza Hotels. Henry received his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Arkansas.


Lori Keller, Vice President – Sales & Marketing

corporate picLori Keller is responsible for the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing plans for all of the hotels in Pacifica Hotel Company's rapidly expanding portfolio, as well as overseeing the company's sales force and marketing department. Lori received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Arizona State University and has an extensive background in marketing, including more than 10 years of experience marketing full-service and limited-service hotels. Prior to joining Pacifica Hotel Company, she served as the Corporate Director of Marketing for Larkspur Hospitality Company, which owns and manages limited-service hotels such as the Hilton Garden Inn and Candlewood Suites brands. She also worked in regional marketing management for Harrah's Entertainment and has extensive advertising agency experience in travel and tourism, managing the advertising accounts for the Nevada Commission on Tourism and the San Francisco Marriott, among others.


Todd Driscoll, CHA Vice President – Quality Assurance & Product Improvement

corporate picTodd Driscoll is responsible for formal inspections of all properties to ensure high standards of quality. Todd received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley and attained his Certified Hotel Administrator designation from the American Hotel & Motel Association in 1988. He has an extensive background of 25 years in the construction and operations of full service and limited service hotels, as well as serving in multiple property management roles for more than 12 years representing Hilton, Holiday Inn, Channel Islands Properties, Best Western, Ramada, and Promus Hotels' Embassy Suites.


Roxanne E. Dahlen, Vice President of Finance

corporate picRoxanne Dahlen joined the company in 1987 and has more than 30 years of accounting experience. She is a native of Santa Barbara. Roxanne is responsible for establishing and maintaining all financial systems and data, including financial analysis, financial reports, accounting policies and procedures implementation for the hotels and corporate companies, as well as processing payroll for over 800 employees.


Rony Husein, Senior Director of Acquisitions and Development

corporate picRony Husein is responsible for hotel acquisitions and development for Pacifica Hotel Investors, which focuses on the California coastal region and premium hotel brand development in strategic and emerging markets in California. Rony has more than 10 years of experience in the hotel industry, most recently at Choice Hotels International Inc. in Silver Spring, MD, where he was director of the chain's extended-stay brand strategy. Prior to that role, he also held executive positions in corporate development, capital investments and franchise operations with Choice. Mr. Husein holds a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Virginia Tech.


Alie Gaffan, Corporate Director of Training

corporate picAlie Gaffan joined the company in 1995 and is responsible for supervising and conducting training in core competencies (guest services, housekeeping, reservations, sales) within all Pacifica Hotel Company properties. The talented Mrs. Gaffan began her career at PHC, working the front desk of one of the hotels, and immediately advanced to the Front Desk Manager. She then served as Southern Area Manager, supervising operations and sales efforts in six Los Angeles regional properties.


Dauné Dowell, M.B.A., Corporate Risk Manager

corporate picDauné Dowell joined the company in 1997 and is responsible for providing risk management support to all Pacifica Hotel Company properties. Ms. Dowell is primarily responsible for identifying and addressing both insurable and non-insurable risk, understanding the exposures, addressing the financial impact of said exposures, and developing related programs and training sessions to avert further risk. In addition, Ms. Dowell is actively involved in the procurement of all levels of insurance coverage for the hotels, managing the claims administration functions and interfacing with in-house council regarding claims-related lawsuits. Ms. Dowell received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1997 and her Master of Business Administration in 2008 from the University of La Verne, La Verne, CA.


John Pedlow, Director of Corporate Revenue Management

corporate picJohn Pedlow is responsible for maximizing revenues for all PHC hotel properties, including the development of strategic pricing and positioning for the Internet, training individual property managers on key revenue management principles, and identifying new distribution channels for room inventory. John previously served as the revenue manager and general manager of the company's Sommerset Suites hotel, operated by PHC. Since beginning his hospitality career in 1994, he has held increasingly responsible positions with a number of hotel companies and is a graduate of Mira Costa College.


Lissa Dye, Corporate Director of Sales

corporate picLissa Dye comes to Pacifica Hotel Company from a long career with Marriott International, where she conducted a wide variety of nationally based sales efforts (for all Marriott brands) targeting a variety of markets. She demonstrated her strength as a project manager, reorganizing sales and service teams as well as strategically developing market group sales centers throughout the country. Lissa received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Chico State University.


Doug Pflaumer, Regional Director of Operations

Doug brings twenty years hospitality experience to Pacifica Hotel Company. His tenure began in New York working for the Sheraton Centre & Towers where he held several different front office positions. He has been a Rooms Division Manager at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel in addition to being the Director of Front Office Operations at the Plaza Hotel.

Doug has also held General Manager positions for Capstar Hotels at the Seaport Suites in lower Manhattan. He relocated to Southern California to join Sunstone hotels and most recently was the General Manager for Residence Inn by Marriott Hotels prior to joining Pacifica Hotel Company.


Frederick Adriance, Regional Director of Operations

Frederick AdrianceFrederick Adriance joined the company in 2006 and oversees the operation of multiple properties in Los Angeles, and is the current President of the Marina del Rey Convention and Visitors Bureau.

After serving in the United States Marine Corp Frederick worked for both the Courtyard by Marriott and Providence Marriott while completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Johnson & Wales University.
Frederick moved to California to work for Renaissance Hotels & Resorts in 1997.  He held positions as Assistant Food & Beverage Mgr, Event Management, Director of Loss Prevention and Front Desk Manager while working for Renaissance Hotels.

Frederick spent time in Hotel Technology as well working with Cytergy Corporation and Hotel Information Systems opening training and facilitating the development of Property Management Systems for Ian Schragger, Adams Mark, Loews, Nikko Hotels, US Airforce, Navy, Marine Corps as well as Candlewood Suites, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Isle of Capri Casinos and Orient Express Hotels in the U.S., South Pacific and Italy.

 Returning to operations Frederick was the Assistant GM of the Courtyard Marriott Marina del Rey, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Marina del Rey and the General Manager of the Marina del Rey Hotel.
